Tell me and I will forget.

Teach me and I will remember.

Let me do it and I will learn it.

In our Academy of Virtual Molding you will learn how to use the software and how to operate your own virtual injection molding machine. We will show you how to operate it and put the finishing touches to your project.

Together with you, we will lay the foundation, go into details on the results and turn you into a simulation expert. With our Advanced Trainings we will take you even one step further. Find out about our training courses or search for the right training course directly in the Academy calendar and easily book a course now.

The right training for you

Prerequisites:

None

Duration:

3 days

The basic training forms the foundation on your way to becoming a simulation expert. It is important to us that you not only learn how to use SIGMASOFT®, but also fully understand how to operate the software. We support you with concrete exercises or your own project data.

  • You will get to know the Graphical User Interface (GUI) and the different perspectives in SIGMASOFT®
  • Creating the right mesh
  • You will get to know the process definition
  • You set up your own project and get to know the operating functions
  • You will learn how to interpret and understand the results

You will receive practical exercises and ongoing advice from your trainer. You apply what you have learned yourself.

Each participant sits at his own place and carries out everything himself. This helps to better understand and retain the many different contents learned.

Our Material Data Training is designed not only to provide an understanding of material models but also to teach you how to assess the quality of datasets.

Our goal is to provide you with a guideline to help you create your own datasets in the best possible way. These fundamental skills enable better and more accurate evaluation of simulation results.

  • Explanation of the database structure
  • You will learn about different models:
    • Thermal properties
    • Rheological properties
    • Curing (Elastomers)
    • pvT
    • Crystallization
    • Solidification
    • Mechanical data
  • Interaction of the models
  • Influence on simulation results
  • Learning to create example datasets

The right strategy makes your simulation more efficient, saving time, energy, and money. We analyze the entire production cycle from dimensioning manufacturing equipment (quick estimation) to series production optimization (detailed analysis).

  • You will learn about the SIGMASOFT® tools at each process step
  • Using an example, you will develop a systematic approach to support your daily work
  • Make more reliable predictions about warpage behavior

The goal of this advanced training is to use the software efficiently with a perfect simulation strategy at every production step.

You will learn the basics for preparing and evaluating DoEs (Design of Experiments) with SIGMASOFT®. Virtual DoE takes the Virtual Molding technology one step further. After defining degrees of freedom and setting objectives, an injection molding tool can be simulated with different configurations. Manually creating multiple simulations and individually analyzing them becomes unnecessary. The best tool design and optimal process settings for your production are identified in advance, saving time and money.

  • Defining geometry, process, and material variables together
  • Setting up goal formulations that describe your simulation objective
  • Evaluating the influence on your simulation goals
  • Finding the optimal combination of possible degrees of freedom
  • Robust process design using our parallel coordinate diagram

How does the injection molding process affect shrinkage and warpage of the component? Is it advisable to modify the cavity geometry to compensate for warpage? As a tool or product engineer, these are daily questions. Our Stress Training offers the opportunity to refresh and deepen your fundamental knowledge in this area.

SIGMASOFT® allows for the prediction of warpage – we show you how. From the early design phase to production, you will learn to evaluate these scenarios correctly and make the right decisions with the help of SIGMASOFT®.

  • Basics of shrinkage & warpage: We demonstrate how calculations work in the simulation, from early design to production
  • Learn a methodological approach to properly assess these scenarios using SIGMASOFT®
  • Fundamentals on how material properties affect shrinkage and warpage are explained
  • Discuss possible and appropriate recommendations with us
  • Additionally, there is an opportunity to discuss mechanical calculations such as tool deformation, insert deformation, demolding simulation, and lifetime analysis

Have you ever considered incorporating component costs into a simulation? This training provides answers to your questions.

Until now, DoE has been used to analyze the influence of various process parameters or geometric changes on predefined objectives. The new tool SIGMAecon makes it possible to determine the costs of components based on material costs, tool costs, production costs, etc. Now, real values from the simulation can be retrieved and considered in component cost calculations. The goal is to ensure the best compromise between cost and quality.

  • You will learn how to use SIGMAecon to link your cost calculation with your simulation results and combine them in a targeted manner
  • You will learn to use SIGMAecon as an initial cost analysis before the simulation, already in the inquiry phase
  • You will learn how to combine SIGMAecon with DoE

After this training, the perspective will be unlocked for you in SIGMASOFT®
